Bartholomew Fair
Project Website [with a little bit more context and production photos]: https://brendan-allen.com/bartholomew_fair
A prototype point-and-click edition of Ben Jonson's 17th-century play, Bartholomew Fair.
Click the "Act II, Scene I" label to start. At present, the game also ends abruptly once the full crowd shows up -- if everyone's out of lines, you've reached the end.
Very much a proof-of-concept/WIP -- all that's currently included are two selected portions from Act 2.
Made in Godot, with ample assistance from the Popochiu plugin, designed by Carenalga for point-and-click games. This is the first project I've made using either of these tools—and they're far more complex than anything I've worked with before—so it's really been a learning-by-making kind of thing.
I'm learning a bit more each day! (Including how to fix the things I break...)
It's weird! It's taught me a lot! It's Very Niche!!!
